Dear Sir/Madam,
We wish to inform you that the EU Regulation n. 679/2016 “General regulation on data protection” provides for the protection of individuals regarding the processing of personal data. According to the legislation indicated, the processing of personal data will be based on the principles of lawfulness, correctness and transparency, adequacy, pertinence and limitation, accuracy and updating, non-excess and accountability. The University of Pisa is a public institution whose purpose is the elaboration, development, and transmission of knowledge. It carries out data processing for its own institutional research and teaching purposes, purposes of public interest in accordance with art. 6 paragraph 1 letter e) of EU Regulation no. 679/2016 which constitutes the legal basis of personal data processing.
We therefore provide you with the following information:
1. The data you will provide will be processed exclusively for educational purposes of institutional nature, and your image will be collected for the sole purpose of creating a souvenir image to be returned to the visitor.
2. The processing of personal data will be carried out in the following ways: automated. Data will be processed on the University’s servers for the time necessary to take the photograph and then immediately deleted.
3. The provision of data is mandatory and any refusal to provide such data will result in the impossibility to process the photograph.
4. Data will not be communicated and will not be disseminated.
5. The Data Controller is the University of Pisa with headquarters in Pisa, Lungarno Pacinotti 43, in the person of the protempore Rector.
6. The data processor’s designee is the Director of the Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa.
7. The persons authorized to process the data will be the technicians of the University of Pisa who work at the Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa.
8. The Data Protection Officer at the University of Pisa is appointed in accordance with Article 37 of EU Regulation 2016/679. The Data Protection Officer can be contacted at the following addresses:

9. At any time, you can exercise your rights pursuant to sections 2, 3 and 4 of chapter III of EU Regulation no. 679/2016 (e.g. rights to information and access, rectification and cancellation, limitation and opposition to processing, portability of personal data).
