Paleontological collection
Paleontological collection includes about 200.000 remains collected in over 400 years and mostly from Italian area.
The most ancient collections were studied by extraordinary figures among which Meneghini, D’Achiardi e Canavari, and includes fossile invertebrates, especially ammonites. Well represented are also the fillites, with the fossil flora of the Monte Pisano, and the vertebrates, both the sea ones (fishes and mammals) and the terrestrial ones (mainly mammals).
The collection will be constantly enriched thanks to the researches of the University of Pisa.
